2008-2010 Honda Accord Rear Brake Pads Premature Wear – Repair & Replacement Guide
About 750,000 2008, 2009, some 2010 Honda Accord and 2009 or 2010 Acura TSX vehicles are affected by a “defect” with the rear brake pads that cause them to wear out prematurely.
The rear brake pads on our 2009 Honda Accord started making a squealing or squeaking noise with just under 20,000 miles on the odometer. Some owners have experienced worn out rear brake pads at just 12,000 to 15,000 miles of use, which is far short of the expected 70,000 to 100,000 miles of pad life. Normally, rear brake pads should last twice as long as the front pads.
