These pictures were taken at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, a.k.a. "The Swamp", in Gainesville Florida on Saturday September 8th 2007.

The two college football teams playing against each other were the University of Florida Gators and the Troy State Trojans from Alabama.

I used a small compact Canon Powershot digital camera so I wasn't able to zoom in very far. Next time I plan on bringing my new Canon S5 IS which has a 12X optical zoom lens. That should help me get closer to the action happening on the football field.

Below are some of the best shots from the day that show the highly coordinated UF band members creating images and words on the field by all standing in the correct spots.

The Gators were led to a 59/31 win over Troy State by Coach Meyer, Phil Trautwein (Senior, Offensive Lineman), Andre Caldwell (Senior, Wide Receiver), Drew Miller (Senior, Offensive Lineman), Derrick Harvey (Junior, Defensive Lineman), Tim Tebow (Quarterback) and Tony Joiner (Senior, Safety).

The UF Gators finished the 2007 season with a 9-4 win/loss record and 5-3 in the Southeastern College Football Conference. The team's ranking in the polls were 13th (Associated Press), 12th (BCS), and 16th (USA Today Coaches). The rest of the season's games included playing Western Kentucky (Win 49 to 3), the Tennessee Volunteers (Win 59-20), Ole Miss (Win 30-24), the Auburn Tigers (Loss 17-20), Louisiana State University (Loss 24-28), the Kentucky Wildcats (Win 45-37), the Georgia Bulldogs (Loss 30-42), the Vanderbilt Commodores (Win 49-22), the South Carolina Gamecocks (Win 51-31), Florida Atlantic University (Win 59-20), the FSU Seminoles (Win 45-12), and the University of Michigan Wolverines (Loss 35-41).
