4Runner Headlight Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to replace the low beam, high beam
and front side marker light bulbs in the headlights of a 2003-2009 4Runner.

| The Low Beam bulb is located at the center of the headlight assembly. To remove it, grasp the light grey base of the bulb and rotate it 1/4 turn counter clockwise before pulling it straight out of the headlight. | ||||

| Separate the red power connector from the base of the bulb by pushing down on the release tab. | ||||

| Push the low beam power connector on to the base of a new # 9006 bulb and insert it into the headlight assembly. Rotate the base of the bulb 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. | ||||

| The High Beam bulb is located near the grille close to the center line of the vehicle. | ||||

| To remove the high beam bulb, grasp the black base and rotate it 1/4 turn counter clockwise before pulling it straight out of the headlight assembly. | ||||

| Separate the power connector from the base of the high beam bulb by pushing down on the release tab. | ||||

| Push the power connector on to the base of a new # 9005 high beam bulb. Insert the bulb into the headlight assembly and rotate the base 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. | ||||

| The Front Side
Marker light bulb is located at the corner of the headlight assembly closest
to the outer edge of the vehicle. You may be able to remove the front side marker bulb by rotating the socket 1/4 turn counter clockwise with just your fingers. I found it too difficult to rotate with my fingers and had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to turn the socket. |

| Pull the old # 168
Amber front side marker light bulb straight out of the socket. Push in a new
# 168 Amber bulb straight into the socket. Any other amber (orange / yellow)
colored T3 1/4 wedge light bulb such as # 192, 194 or 2825A will also fit
into the front side marker socket. Insert the bulb into the headlight and rotate the socket 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place. |

| Test the new bulbs
by turning on the headlights, flash the high beams, and activate the hazard
