| On one of
the nights during our short trip to Costa Rica, we decided to go out
and sample the local
nightlife. One of the staff members at our hotel,
The Hard Rock Resort & Casino, recommended that we check out the
nearby Backyard Bar & Restaurant. The Backyard Oceanfront Rooms & Suites is a popular surfer hang out located on Playa Hermosa in the city of Jaco, which is on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. On the menu at The Backyard is the usual collection of bar food including pizza, burgers and sandwiches with some local seafood options. There's one bar in the front area of the restaurant near the pool tables and another bar in the back by the wooden deck that overlooks Hermosa Beach. |

| The best nights to
visit The Backyard Bar & Restaurant are on Wednesdays when they host a
"Ladies Night" and on Saturdays when there are live local bands.
