This automotive maintenance tutorial
was specifically written to assist owners of the fourth generation
(2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018) Subaru Forester SUV in changing
a worn out rear wiper blade on the back windshield window. Owners of other Subaru vehicles such as the Outback, Impreza, Legacy, XV Crosstrek, WRX, BRZ, SVX, Tribeca, Exiga, Trezia, Levorg and Baja may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM rear window wiper blade size in inches is 14". A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Trico 14-B, Bosch H354, Valeo R14G, Anco AR-14B and AutoTex R1-14. No tools are needed to remove and replace the rear wiper blade. |

Continue Rotating Old Blade |
Pop Bar Out of Socket |
Old Wiper Blade Removed |
The first step is
to lift the rear wiper arm off the back window until it remains in the
raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. Continue rotating the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until you feel the mounting bar in the center of the old blade pop out of the "C" shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm. Pull the old wiper blade off the tip of the wiper arm. |

Line Up New Wiper Blade |
I recommend buying
the Trico 14-B rear wiper blade
since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the mounting bar in the middle of the new wiper blade with the "C" shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm. The rubber wiper blade should be pointing out away from the back windshield window. |

Lower Blade Over Arm |
Line Up Bar & Socket |
Snap Bar Into Socket |
Pass the end of the
wiper arm through the opening in the new wiper blade on the left (driver)
side. Lower the plastic mounting bar in the center of the new wiper blade into the "C" shaped socket. Rotate the new wiper blade until it is almost parallel with the wiper arm. You should hear or feel the mounting bar snap into the socket. |

Rotate Blade Parallel |
Lower Wiper To Window |
Rear Wiper Blade Installed |
Rotate the new
wiper blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm. Double check that the new blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. Gently lower the wiper arm down to the back window. For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the window and applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. For more, please check out all of my
