No, that's not a typo. This high class restaurant in Gainesville Florida is named Steve's Americain Cafe, not Steve's American Cafe. The address is 12 West University Avenue, Gainesville FL 32601.

The restaurant is open for dinner every night and is just one block west of Main St. on University Ave.

Don't expect to eat the same thing every you visit Steve's Cafe since the restaurant's menu is constantly changing.

Tasty entrees such as veal medallions, seared salmon, venison, roast duck, rack of lamb, and Mahi Mahi are the kind you can expect.

Steve's Cafe Americain also has a large selection of wine with over a 1000 bottles in the store room.

Steve's Cafe Americain also has a small fully stocked bar where you can wait until your table is ready. I'd recommend calling ahead of time to make a reservation since it's not uncommon for the restaurant to be booked solid (especially for holidays and Valentine's Day). After a drink at the bar, dinner for two with a glass of wine, you're looking at over $100.00 for a date with your girl. But trust me, the ambiance and food are well worth the price when you see how special you make your girlfriend or wife feel.

The owner of Steve's Cafe Americain, named Steve (duh), is also an art collector and attached to the restaurant is his personal art collection gallery. The room is also used for weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties or other large private groups that book the restaurant for their event.
