This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the second generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Nissan Murano SUV in changing the rear wiper blade on the back windshield window.

Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Versa, Maxima, Juke, Rogue, Altima, Xterra, Pathfinder, Sentra, Cube, Armada, Leaf, Quest, Frontier, Teana, 370Z, GT-R, Titan, G25, G37, M35, QX56, QX60 and M37 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The rear wiper blade size is 12" (inches) in length.

A few compatible replacement 12 inch wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Michelin 9512, Trico 12-B, Anco AR-12B, Bosch H306 (3397011432) and Valeo R12D.

The tools needed to replace the blade include a 10mm socket with a 1/4" drive ratcheting wrench and a plastic automotive panel pry tool.

Gently Pry Off Wiper Arm
The first step is to gently pull off the plastic cover on the base of the wiper arm.

Set the plastic cap aside in a safe place.

Loosen the nut that secures the wiper assembly to the rear window mount by turning it counterclockwise with a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive ratcheting wrench.

Set the 10mm nut aside in a safe place.

Rotate Old Blade Away
Use a plastic automotive panel removal pry bar tool to gently loosen the wiper assembly until it can be pulled off the rear windshield.

You could also use a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a small towel. Try to avoid applying excessive pressure which could lead to cracked, chipped, scratched or broken glass.

Once the wiper assembly has been taken off the back window, rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm.

Continue rotating the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until it can be popped off.

I recommend buying the Trico 12-B rear wiper blade since it has excellent reviews on Amazon.

Spin on the nut in the clockwise direction by hand a few turns to prevent from having it become cross threaded.

Carefully tighten the 10mm nut by turning it clockwise with the socket and ratcheting wrench until it is snug.

Try to avoid over tightening the 10mm nut to prevent from cracking the rear window.

Pop on the plastic cover over the base of the wiper arm.

For the best wiper performance, I'd recommend thoroughly cleaning the rear windshield and applying a window treatment product such as Rain-X.
