How to change a burnt out overhead dome
light bulb in a 2nd generation 2005 to 2016 Nissan Frontier pickup truck.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation "D40 Series" (2005, 2006, 2007,
2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) Nissan
Frontier pickup truck in changing a burnt out dome light bulb in the
headliner. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Navara, Versa, Maxima, Juke, Rogue, Altima, Xterra, Pathfinder, Murano, Cube, Armada, Leaf, Quest, Sentra, Teana, 370Z, GT-R, Titan, G25, G37, M35, QX56, QX60 and M37 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement festoon or "fuse" style bulb is part number DE3175 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA and Eiko. You can also use a brighter DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace is a small flathead screwdriver or a small plastic pry bar tool. |

Remove Old Light Bulb |
To
prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, cover the tip of your
screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or you can use a small plastic
automotive panel pry bar tool. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in to the notch near the front edge of the lens cover close to the switch. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. Pull back one of the metal electrical contacts to release the old bulb from the socket. |

Test New Light Bulb |
Insert
a new # DE3175
light bulb in to the socket. If you are installing an LED light bulb and it doesn't work at first, it might be polarized. Try flipping it around 180 degrees in the socket. Test the new light bulb by moving the "On / Off" switch to the "On" position. |

Re-Insert Rear Edge First |

Re-insert the rear edge of the lens cover in to the housing first. Gently snap in the front edge of the lens cover. For more,
