Northern Curly Tailed Lizard - "The T-Rex of Ground Lizards" Twenty pairs
of these lizards were imported from the Bahamas
back in the 1940's to help control an insect population that threatened
the sugar cane crops. Now they have spread to over 50 miles
of South Florida coastline. They are carnivorous and the smaller native
Florida lizards make up a large part of their diet.
