This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the sixth generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016)
Mitsubishi Mirage in changing the rear wiper blade on the back
windshield window. Owners of other Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Lancer, Outlander, Galant, Montero, Eclipse, 3000GT, Endeavor, Raider, Diamante, Attrage, Carisma, Colt, Grandis, Magna, Pajero, Space Star and the revised 2017 Mirage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM rear wiper blade size in inches is 12". A few compatible replacement rear wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Michelin 9512, Trico 12-A, Anco AR-12A, Bosch H307, Valeo R12E & ACDelco 8-212A. No tools are needed to replace the wiper blade. |

Lift Wiper Arm Off Window |
Rotate Old Wiper Blade |
Pop Off Old Wiper Blade |
The first step is
to gently pull open the black plastic cover on the base of the wiper arm. Swing the hinged base cap out of the way. Lift the wiper arm off the back window. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until you feel the mounting bar pop out of the "C" shaped socket. |

Old Wiper Blade Removed |
"C" Shaped Socket |
Mounting Bar At Center |
Try to avoid
letting the spring loaded wiper arm smack down on to the window to prevent
from having it scratch or chip the glass. I recommend buying the Michelin 9512 rear wiper blade since it has great reviews on Amazon. |

Line Up New Wiper Blade |
Insert Arm In To Opening |
Snap Bar In To "C" Socket |
Line up the
mounting bar in the center of the new wiper blade with the "C" shaped socket
at the end of the wiper arm. The new wiper blade should be almost perpendicular to the wiper arm. Firmly rotate the new wiper blade towards the wiper arm to pop the mounting bar in to the "C" shaped socket. |
||
Rotate New Blade Parallel |
Lower Wiper To Window |
Plastic Base Cover |
Continue rotating
the new wiper blade until is parallel with the wiper arm. Gently lower the the wiper blade on to the back window. |
||
Swing Closed Hinged Cover |
Snap Closed Base Cap |
Rear Wiper Replaced |
Swing the hinged
cover closed over the base of the wiper arm and gently pop it in to place. For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the back window and applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. For more,
