This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the sixth generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016) Mitsubishi Mirage in changing a burnt out front side marker light bulb in the front quarter panel.

Owners of other Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Lancer, Outlander, Galant, Montero, Eclipse, 3000GT, Endeavor, Raider, Diamante, Attrage, Carisma, Colt, Grandis, Magna, Pajero, Space Star and the revised 2017 Mirage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

Sylvania lists the replacement light bulb as being part number 2825 but the OEM bulb is non-replaceable and you'll have to change the entire housing.

There are several Mitsubishi Side Marker housings available on Amazon.

The only tool needed to remove the side marker housing is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool.

Remove Pop Rivet
There are two methods for removing the side marker light housing from the front quarter panel.

If you are worried about scratching your paint, I'd recommend using the first method which involves going in through the black plastic wheel well liner.

Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the center of the pop rivet fastener along the outer edge of the wheel well liner closest to the side marker housing.

Then pry out the base of the pop rivet and set it aside in a safe place.

Pull back the wheel well liner or "splash guard" to access the back side of the housing.

Gently press in the retaining clip and pop out the light housing.

The replacement side marker light bulb housings on Amazon for the Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander Sport look exactly the same as the OEM housing on this Mirage.

Some of the options are as follows: Mitsubishi Lancer OEM style pair, Depo Smoke LED, Smoked Lens Amber LED, and Mitsubishi Lancer single side marker assembly.

Push the power plug on to the new housing until it clicks securely in to place.

Test New Side Marker
If you went in through the wheel well liner, re-insert the black plastic pop rivet to secure it in place.

Test the new side marker by turning on the headlight switch.
