The 2008 Miami Motorcycle Salon was held on April 19th and 20th at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

This event is the largest bike show held in the South Florida area. The first Miami Motorcycle Salon took place in 2006 at the Coconut Grove Expo Center in Coral Gables, FL.

Unfortunately, in 2007 the show had to be cancelled due to venue complications, but the 2008 MMS was bigger and better than the original.

Adult tickets were on sale either online for $8.00 or for $12.00 at the Miami Beach Convention Center ticket booth. Tickets for children aged 6-12 were just $5.00.

The show was open to the public from 10 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and from 10 AM to 7 PM on Sunday.

The 2008 Miami Motorcycle Salon was sponsored by General Motors (GM), Carolina Motorcycle Rentals, Cycle Trader Magazines, the Ronald McDonald House, MK Tours, North Miami Yamaha & Sea Doo, Allstate Insurance, and SoFLA Sportbikes.

Some of the features of the show included the custom bikes on display, the used bike pavilion, the exhibitor booths, the Globe of Death stunt show, the classic rock band "Different Faces", the band "214", the "Miller Road" band, the giveaways, stage prizes, a selection of celebrity owned motorcycles and the rocking dance show by the Coyote Ugly Bar dancers.

I'm glad that the show was held at the Miami Beach Convention Center because I've been to this venue a few other times for events such as the DUB Custom Auto Show & Concert, the Hot Import Nights Show, and the South Florida International Auto Show. The Miami Beach Convention Center is located at 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139.

If you plan on visiting Miami to attend the 2009 Miami Motorcycle Salon, which will most likely be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center again, there are a nice selection of hotels in the area. Some of the options are the South Beach Hotel, the Sadigo Hotel, the Dorchester Hotel, the Townhouse Hotel, The Shore Club, the Shelborne South Beach Hotel Resort, the Sanctuary Hotel, the Raleigh Hotel, the Riande Continental Hotel, and the Richmond Hotel.
