Glove Box Light Bulb Replacement Guide
How to change a burnt out light bulb in
the glove box of a 1st generation 2015 to 2018 Jeep Renegade SUV.

| This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and possibly
also the 2019 and 2020 model years) Jeep Renegade SUV in changing a
burnt out a light bulb in the glove box or upgrading it to a
brighter LED unit. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat vehicles such as the 200, 300, Pacifica, Town & Country, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Fiat 500 500X or 500L, Fiat 124 Spider, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement miniature wedge base light bulb part number is 194 or a compatible 194 LED bulb. The tools needed to access and replace the light bulb include a Torx T25 star bit screwdriver and a plastic pry bar tool. |

 Loosen Counterclockwise |
 |
| The first few steps
are to sit in the front passenger seat of the SUV, open the glove box and
empty out the contents. Remove the three screws along the top interior edge of the glove box by turning them counterclockwise with a Torx T25 star bit screwdriver. |

 Move To Bottom Edge |
| Set the three top
screws aside in a safe place. Move to the bottom edge of the glove box and gently pull off the carpet trim cover. |

 Pull Back Carpet Panel |
 |
 Remove Bottom 3 Screws |
| Remove the three Torx T25 screws at the bottom edge of the glove box. | ||
 6 Screws Removed |
 Pry Off Side Panel |
 Side Trim Panel Removed |
| Move to the outer
edge of the dashboard and gently pry off the side trim cover using the
plastic pry bar tool. Set the side panel aside in a safe place. |

 Remove Side Screw |
 7 Screws Removed |
| Remove the single
screw on the side of the dashboard by turning it counterclockwise with the
Torx T25 screwdriver. At this point, you should have removed 7 screws. |

 Gently Pull Off Glove Box |
 Glove Box Removed |
 Light Electrical Connector |
| Gently pull the
entire glove box assembly out of the dashboard. It is held in place by a series of plastic retaining clips. |

 Pull Up Retaining Clip |
 Old Light Bulb Exposed |
 Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
| Gently pull up the
retaining clip on the black plastic electrical connector and pull the power
plug straight out of its socket. If the old light bulb was recently turned on, be careful when you remove it. It might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |

 Push In New Light Bulb |
| Push a new number
194 miniature wedge base light
bulb straight in to the socket. If you'd like to have a brighter glove box light, install a compatible 194 LED bulb. |

 Push In Power Plug |
 |
 Push On Glove Box |
| Push the power plug
back into its socket. Line up the glove box with the dashboard and push it back into place. |
||
 Firmly Tap In Fasteners |
 Replace Side Screw |
 Tighten Clockwise |
| Firmly tap in the
friction fasteners all along the glove box. Replace the single screw on the outside edge of the dashboard by turning it clockwise. |

 Replace Bottom Screws |
 |
 Tighten Clockwise |
| Replace the three screws along the bottom edge of the glove box. | ||
 Replace Carpet Trim Cover |
 Attach Slot To Metal Hook |
 Replace Top 3 Screws |
| Lift the passenger
kick panel carpet trim cover back in to place and attach the metal hook to
the square opening. Replace the top three screws by turning them clockwise. |

 Replace Side Panel |
| Line up the side panel and push it back in to place. | ||
 |
 Replace Contents - Close |
 Glove Box Bulb Replaced |
| Replace the
contents of the glove box and close it to complete the job. For more,
