Side Marker Bulb Housing |
Opening In Front Fender |
The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out
side marker light bulb. Look in to the opening between the front quarter panel and the headlight housing. Locate the bright orange side marker bulb housing and the metal retaining clip. |
|
Push To Release Clip |
Bulb Housing Released |
Use a flathead
screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool to gently push down the metal
retaining clip to release the light housing from the fender. Gently pull the light housing out of the front quarter panel. |
|
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Rotate the black
and brown plastic bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it
straight out of the housing. (If the old light bulb was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Allow it to cool off before touching it.) Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |
|
|
|
Old Light Bulb Removed |
Push In New Light Bulb |
Push a new
miniature wedge base number 2821
light bulb straight in to the socket. If you'd like to have brighter front side marker lights, install some compatible LED bulbs. |
|
1/4 Turn Clockwise |
Re-Insert Hook Bottom Edge |
Re-insert the bulb
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Lower the hook at the bottom of the light housing back in to its corresponding opening in the front quarter panel. |
|
Pop In Retaining Clip |
Test New Side Marker Bulb |
Then gently snap in
the metal retaining clip at the top of the light housing. To test the new front side marker light bulb, turn on the headlights or press the "Unlock" button on the key fob to activate the exterior lights.
