automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012,
2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) Jeep Patriot SUV in changing the rear wiper
blade on the back windshield window. Owners of other Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and RAM vehicles such as the Compass, Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, 500, Town & Country, Pacifica, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster Van may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM rear wiper blade size is 10 inches. A few compatible replacement 10" wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 40710, Trico 10-1, Prime Choice PV-10, Anco 31-10, ACDelco 8-2101 and AutoTex M5-10. Gently lift the
rear wiper blade off the back windshield. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the metal wiper arm at a slight angle. Push the black plastic release tab at the center of the old wiper blade in towards the metal wiper arm to release the mounting bracket. Slide the old wiper blade to the left in order to remove the plastic mounting bracket from the hook at the end of the metal wiper arm. |

Line Up New Blade & Hook |
Place a towel on
the windshield to protect the glass from being cracked, shattered, scratched
or chipped just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window. I recommend buying the Trico 10-1 since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the plastic mounting bracket in the center of the new wiper blade with the metal wiper arm. |

Slide Bracket In To Hook |
New Wiper Blade Secured |
Lower Blade to Window |
Slide the new blade
to the right in order to secure the plastic mounting bracket in to the metal
hook at the end of the wiper arm. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. Gently lower the rear wiper arm to the back window. For the best wiper performance, thoroughly clean off the windshield and apply a window treatment product such as Rain-X. For more,
