This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the first generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and
2017) Hyundai Veloster in changing a burnt out cargo area light bulb
in the "trunk". Owners of other Hyundai or Kia vehicles such as the Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Santa Fe, Tucson, Accent, Ioniq, Genesis, Tiburon, ix20, i20, i30, i40, Veracruz, Optima, Cadenza, K900, Soul, Niro, Sportage, Sorento, Sedona, Rio, Forte and Spectra may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A compatible replacement "festoon" style light bulb is part number DE3175 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. If you want a brighter cargo light, choose a compatible DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver. |

The first step is

Push the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding it off the end of the light housing. Push in the two black plastic tabs on the rear cover before pulling it off. |

Push On Power Plug |
Line up the black
plastic rear cover and gently pop it back in to place. Push the power plug straight on to the end of the housing until it clicks securely in to place. |

Test New Cargo Light |
Re-insert the wires
and the rear edge of the housing back in to the cargo area panel first. Then gently snap in the retaining clip on the rear edge of the light housing to secure it in place.
