This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 2nd generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) Hyundai Tucson SUV in changing a burnt out dome light bulb in the headliner above the 2nd row of passenger seats.

Owners of other Hyundai and Kia vehicles such as the Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Azera, Veloster, Tiburon, Genesis, Lavita, Veracruz, Santa Fe, ix35, Equus, Cadenza, Forte, Optima, Rio, Soul, Sedona, Sorento, Spectra and Sportage may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A replacement "festoon" or "fuse" style bulb is part number DE3175 (31mm in length).

If you would like to have a brighter dome light, install a compatible DE3175 LED bulb.

You may also be able to use the slightly longer # 6418 (35mm), 6423 (36mm) or 6411 (41mm) bulbs.

The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool used to pry out the translucent plastic lens cover.

Pull Out Old Bulb
To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in to one of the two small notches located on the rear edge of the translucent plastic lens cover.

Gently pry out the lens cover. You may need to reposition the screwdriver in to the other notch and pry again.

Set the lens cover aside in a safe place.

If the old bulb was recently illuminated, be careful since it might still be hot enough to burn your skin.

Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger before pulling it straight out of the socket.
