This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
& 2015) Honda Pilot SUV in changing a burnt out dome light /
rear passenger reading light bulb in the headliner housing above the
2nd and 3rd row of seats. Owner's of other Honda or Acura vehicles such as the Odyssey, Insight, Ridgeline, CR-V, Fit, Civic, CR-Z, Crosstour, Accord, MDX, RDX, RLX, TL, TSX and ILX may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement light bulb is part number 2825 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA and Eiko. You may also use other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 168, W5W, 158, 194 or a compatible LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

There are two sets

of passengers and other above the third row of seats. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the inner edge of the lens cover and the housing. Gently pry out the retaining clips and remove the lens cover. Set the lens cover aside in a safe place. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. If you have trouble removing the old bulb, try wearing a latex glove to give your fingers more grip on the bulb. |
