| The Green Cay Nature Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 PM to 4:30 PM, on Saturday from 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Sunday from 1 PM to 4:30 PM. The nature center features exhibits that explain the water supply system, water cycles, water conservation, water purification, and native people of the Everglades. There is also a frog habitat, turtle habitat, alligator hole, a wetland diorama and other educational exhibits. | ||||

| Some of the birds that can be seen in the Green Cay Wetlands include Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Tricolored Herons, Reddish Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Black-Crowned Night Herons, Limpkins, Mourning Dove, Purple Gallinules, Roseate Spoonbills, Black-necked Stilts, Anhingas (snake birds), Double Crested Comorants, Pied Billed Grebes, Common Moorhens, American Bitterns, Soras, American Kestrals, Least Terns, Osprey and Purple Martins. | ||||

| Other wildlife that has been spotted at Green Cay include American Alligators, river otters, Bobcats, raccoons, marsh rabbits, yellow cooter turtles, frogs, butterflies, and dragonflies. | ||||

Green Cay is more than just a nice place to photograph birds, the wetlands also serve as a water reclamation zone for Palm Beach County. The land acts as a natural filter for millions of gallons of treated wastewater that recharges the county's groundwater supply. |

During our three visits to the Green Cay Wetlands, I also captured a few short video clips.
