This automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the 2006 to 2012 Ford Fusion in replacing the coin cell battery in the keyless entry system's remote control.

Owners of other Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicles such as the Fiesta, Mustang, Focus, Taurus, Flex, Edge, Expedition, Escape, Ranger, F-150, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT, Navigator, Milan, Grand Marquis, Mariner, and Mountaineer may also find this instruction guide to be helpful.

A replacement coin cell (AKA "button" or "watch") battery for the Ford Fusion key fob is part # CR2032 from various manufacturers such as Energizer, Panasonic, Duracell, Maxell, Sanyo and Philips.

The only tool needed to replace the key fob battery is a small flathead screwdriver. You could also use a coin or small knife.

Key Fob Rear Cover Off

Pry Out Old Battery

Panasonic CR 2032 3V

The first step is to locate the small notch on the key fob at the edge closest to the red "Panic" button. Insert the blade of a small flathead screwdriver into the notch and pry off the rear cover.

Below the key fob's rear cover, you'll see the old Panasonic CR2032 3V battery. Gently pry out the old battery with the small flathead screwdriver

Dielectric Grease

Insert New CR2032 Battery

"+" Side Facing Up

Push in a new CR 2032 3V battery into the key fob remote control with the "+" side facing up towards you.

Line Up Back Cover

Snap Rear Cover In Place

Test New Key Fob Battery

Line up the key fob's rear cover and carefully snap it into place.

Test the new battery by pressing the "Unlock" or "Lock" buttons while standing near your Ford Fusion sedan.
