This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fifth generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) Ford
Explorer SUV in changing the rear window wiper blade. Owners of other Ford or Lincoln SUV, crossover or hatchback vehicles with similar cargo area lights such as the Escape, Edge, Flex, Expedition, Focus, C-MAX, MKC, MKX, MKT and Navigator may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A few compatible replacement size 11" or 12 (inches) rear window wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Motorcraft WW-1106, Trico # 11-G, Bosch A281H, and Valeo R12F. I cross checked these wiper blades on various manufacturer and retail websites with some consumer reviews verifying that they should be an exact fit for the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and most likely also the 2015 Ford Explorer. No tools are needed to change the rear wiper blade. |

Hold Plastic Wiper Arm |
Push Old Wiper Blade Off Arm |
Old Blade Disconnected |
To make it easier
to remove the old wiper blade, gently pull off the plastic cover on the base
of the wiper arm. Set the cover aside in a safe place. Hold the wiper arm with one and then gently push the old wiper blade towards the glass until it pops off. Another method is to hold the wiper blade against the glass and then pull back the plastic wiper arm until they separate from each other. |

Mounting Bar On Wiper Arm |
"C" Socket On Wiper Blade |
Line Up Socket & Blade |
I recommend buying
the Trico 11-G rear wiper blade
since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the "C" shaped socket at the center of the new wiper blade with the mounting bar on the wiper arm. |

Snap New Blade On Arm |
New Blade Attached To Arm |
|
Firmly push the new
wiper blade on to the arm until it clicks securely in to place. Double check that the wiper blade is properly attached to the arm before moving on to the next steps. |

Lower Arm To Glass |
Push On Plastic Cover |
Rear Wiper Blade Installed |
Lower the wiper arm
back down to the rear window. To ensure optimum wiper performance, I'd recommend that you thoroughly clean the rear window and apply a glass treatment product such as Rain-X or Zaino Glass Polish. For more, check out my other
