This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & also 2016 in Canada) Dodge Durango SUV in changing a burnt out fog light bulb located in the front bumper cover.

Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge and RAM vehicles such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Avenger, Charger, Journey, Dart, Challenger, Grand Caravan, and Ram C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The replacement fog light bulb part for the newer 2014 and 2015 Durango models is H11.

Previous 2011, 2012 & 2013 Durango model years use a # 2504 fog light bulb.

No tools are needed to access and replace the fog light bulbs.

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise
On this 2014 Durango, the fog light bulb was easily accessed by sliding under the front bumper cover.

The procedure should be the same or very similar for the earlier 2011, 2012 & 2013 model years. If there is a plastic panel in the way, either gently pull it back or remove any pop rivet fasteners to remove it.

Press the release tab on the electrical connector and slide the plug straight off the base of the old bulb.

For the 2014, 2015 & 2016 model years, rotate the base of the old bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing.

To remove the # 2504 type bulbs in the 2011, 2012 & 2013 Durango model years, you'll need to squeeze together the two sides of the old bulb to release the retaining clips.

Then pull the old 2504 bulb straight out of the housing.

Empty Bulb Socket
Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay.

If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Test New Fog Light Bulbs
Insert the new # H11 bulb in to the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place.

(If you would like to have brighter fog lights, install some compatible replacement H11 LED bulbs.)

For the 2011, 2012 & 2013 model years, push the # 2504 bulb straight in to the socket until the two retaining clips "click" securely in to place. Double check that the new bulb is secure.

Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new bulb.

Test the new bulbs by turning on the headlights and then activating the fog lights.
