This
automotive tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the
revised 5th generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) Chrysler Town &
Country in changing a burnt out rear turn signal or reverse bulb in
the tail light assemblies. Owners of related Chrysler Group minivan vehicles such as the Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Grand Voyager, Lancia Grand Voyager, Ram C/V Tradesman Cargo Van and the Volkswagen Routan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: Rear Turn Signal # 3757A and Reverse # 3157. They are available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, Eiko and PIAA. (The brake lights are LED bulbs which should last the lifetime of the vehicle.) The tools needed to change the bulbs include a 10mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet. |

The first two steps
are to open the tailgate and then move to the side of the minivan with the
burnt out tail light bulb. Remove the two screws on the inner edge of the tail light housing by turning them counter clockwise with the 10mm socket and ratcheting wrench. Set the two screws aside in a safe place. |

The tail light is
still held in place two metal pegs or "spikes" on the outer edge. Gently pull the tail light assembly straight off the rear of the vehicle. If you have trouble removing it, try wiggling it while you pull or carefully pry at the outer edge with a plastic pry bar tool or a small flathead screwdriver covered in a micro fiber towel. |

Push On Tail Light Housing |
Line up the two
black metal pegs on the outer edge of the tail light housing with the
grommets in the metal body panel. Gently push the tail light back in to place. |
||
Tighten Upper 10mm Screw |
Replace Lower 10mm Screw |
Test New Bulbs |
Insert and tighten
the two screws on the inner edge of the housing by turning them clockwise
with the 10mm socket and ratcheting wrench. Do not over tighten the screws to avoid cracking the plastic housing. Test the new tail light bulbs by having someone step on the brake pedal, activate the hazard signals and place the transmission in reverse. Be sure to record the bulb change in your vehicle's service records. For more,
