These first few pictures are from one of the days when my girlfriend had to go work at University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB).

We packed up the promotional items and her presentation equipment from our room at the Marina Beach Motel and into our Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo rental car.

I didn't stick around to hear her presentation again since I had heard it a few times before and she told me that my presence occasionally made her fumble her words. What can I say, I can't help that my good looks are distracting.

Instead I walked past the parking lot in front of the school and snapped these pictures from the railing that looked down over the Santa Barbara beach. Then I took a drive to explore the area that surrounds the University of California at Santa Barbara. UCSB is located just south of the Santa Barbara airport and the main road that runs across the town is Hollister Avenue. I wonder if Hollister the clothing company has any relation to the road. I also found a farmer selling strawberries on the side of the road so I stopped to pick her up a basket since she loves fresh strawberries so much.

In the middle of this row is a picture of the canoes that belong to the Kanaja Canoe Club of Santa Barbara California. It reminded me of our kayaking experience in the Santa Barbara harbor. I bet it would be fun to surf those large canoes on a wave into the beach.

Once her student group fundraiser was complete, we went for a walk on the beach. Since it was late in the day and the sun was low in the sky I was able to take these romantic silhouette pictures of our shadows.

Guys, take notes here. Nothing makes a better gift for your girlfriend or wife than framing a romantic picture from an experience that the two of you shared together. But of course, unless you actually take these kind of pictures on your trips, you won't have them to print.
