| One of our
favorite times of the year to visit the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens
is during the summer. The South
Florida heat and humidity can be brutal in the summer but this does
have one advantage. There are usually much fewer people visiting the
Bonnet House, which makes it a lot easier to see the variety of
wildlife that resides on the grounds.
Some of the animals that are commonly
observed in the Bonnet House gardens include Brazilian squirrel
monkeys, green iguanas, Florida Cooter turtles, swans and Japanese Koi
goldfish.
If you have the time, I highly
recommend taking the museum tour. The house contains an eclectic
collection of statues, wood carvings, paintings, architectural
elements and artifacts.
