Headlight Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a low beam, high beam,
front turn signal or side marker light bulb in a 2014 to 2018 Nissan Rogue.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2014, 2015, 2016 and the revised
2017 or 2018 model year Nissan Rogue SUV in changing a burnt out low
beam, high beam, front turn signal or side marker (parking) light
bulbs in the headlight assemblies. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Murano, Altima, Titan, Versa, Sentra, Maxima, Leaf, 370Z, GT-R, Juke, Pathfinder, Armada, Patrol, Skyline, Cube, X-Trail, Xterra, Qashqai, Rogue Sport, NV200, NV400, Teana, Q50, Q70, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX56, QX60, QX70 and QX80 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11, High Beam # H9, Front Turn Signal # 7444NA and Side Marker / Parking # 2825 (or W5W). To replace the light bulbs in the driver side headlight assembly, you'll need a flathead screwdriver, a 10mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet. |

The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out
headlight bulb. All of the bulbs in the headlight assembly on the passenger side of the vehicle can easily be accessed with out any extra steps. To access the light bulb on the driver side of the SUV, you'll need to remove the air intake assembly. Locate the two retaining clips at the middle of the air intake tube. Firmly pinch the two tabs on the top of the air intake to release the retaining clips. Gently pull the middle piece of the air intake assembly off the air filter box and the ram air intake at the front of the engine bay. Set the air intake tube aside in a safe place. |

Pry Up Center of Fastener |
Loosen the single
bolt that holds the ram air intake piece to the front edge of the engine bay
by turning it counterclockwise with a 10mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet. Set the bolt aside in a safe place. There are also two black plastic pop rivet friction fasteners on the front edge of the ram air intake. |

Gently pry up the
center part of the fastener with a small flathead screwdriver or use a
pop rivet removal tool. Once the center part of the fastener has been raised to release the fastener, pry out the base. Set the two pop rivets aside with the 10mm bolt. |

Low Beam - Outer Edge |
Gently lift the ram
air intake off the front edge of the engine bay. Set it aside in a safe place. The low beam light bulb is located near the outer edge of the headlight housing. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Rotate the base of the old low beam bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. | ||
Squeeze Two Tabs |
Disconnect Power Plug |
Low Beam Bulb Housing |
Pinch together the
two tabs on the electrical connector before sliding it straight off the base
of the old low beam light bulb. Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen headlight bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol. |

Install the new
number
H11 light bulb in to the
housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new light bulb until it clicks securely in to place. |

Grey Plastic Cover |
The high beam light
bulb is located near the center of the headlight housing. Twist off the grey plastic dust cover by turning it 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Set the dust cap aside in a safe place. |

Rotate the base of the old high beam light bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. | ||
Remove Old Light Bulb |
Squeeze Tabs To Release |
Disconnect Power Plug |
Squeeze together
the two plastic tabs on the electrical connector before pulling it straight
off the base of the old light bulb. Avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen light bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol. |

Push On Power Plug |
Insert a new number
H9 high beam bulb in to the
housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new high beam headlight bulb. |

Replace Plastic Dust Cap |
Replace the grey plastic dust cover by twisting it on 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction. | ||
Side Marker / Parking Light |
Side Marker Bulb Socket |
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
The side marker
(also known as the "parking" light) bulb is located at the outer edge of the
housing. Rotate the black plastic bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Push In New Light Bulb |
Pull the old light
bulb straight out of the socket. Push a new number 2825 (also known as the W5W) miniature wedge base light bulb straight in to the socket. |

Turn Signal - Inner Corner |
Pull Out Plastic Piece |
Re-insert the side
marker bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to
secure it in place. The front turn signal light bulb socket is located at the inner corner of the headlight assembly. For easy access to the front turn signal light bulb socket, you'll need to pull out the lower part of the engine air intake. |

1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Gently pull the
lower part of the air intake up and towards the middle of the engine bay to
remove it. Set the plastic piece aside in a safe place. Rotate the grey plastic turn signal bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Push In New Amber Bulb |
Pull the old turn
signal light bulb straight out of the socket. Push a new amber colored number 7444NA light bulb straight in to the socket. |

Empty Bulb Housing |
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Replace Lower Air Intake |
Re-insert the bulb
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Push the lower part of the air intake back in to place. |

Line Up Air Intake |
Replace Air Intake Assembly |
Push In To Air Filter Box |
Re-attach the air intake assembly. | ||
Secure Two Plastic Clips |
Push In Pop Rivets |

Make sure that the
two retaining clips at the middle of the air intake tube are securely in
place. Push the two pop rivets back in to place at the front edge of the air intake. |

Two Fasteners Secured |
Spin In Bolt Clockwise |
Tighten 10mm Clockwise |
Push down the
center part of each pop rivet to secure the fasteners in place. Tighten the 10mm bolt by turning it clockwise with the socket and 1/4" drive ratchet until it is snug. |

Air Intake Replaced |
Test New Low Beam |
Testing High Beam Bulb |
To test the new
light bulbs, turn on the headlights, activate the hazard signals and flash
