This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2014, 2015, 2016 and the refreshed
2017 or 2018 model year Nissan Rogue SUV in cleaning or changing the
A/C system's cabin air filter element located in the HVAC blower
motor housing. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Murano, Altima, Titan, Versa, Sentra, Maxima, Leaf, 370Z, GT-R, Juke, Pathfinder, Armada, Patrol, Skyline, Cube, X-Trail, Xterra, Qashqai, Rogue Sport, NV200, NV400, Teana, Q50, Q70, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX56, QX60, QX70 and QX80 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A few compatible replacement cabin air filters with their part numbers are as follows: Nissan 27277-4BU0A, ATP RA-163, EcoGard XC10434, Fram CF11854, TYC 800196P, ACDelco CF3351, GKI CF1337 and Wix WP10179. No tools are needed to access and replace the filter. |

Insert Finger In Plastic Loop |
Pull Out Bottom Edge |
Filter Cover Removed |
The cabin air
filter can be accessed from the front passenger footwell.
Look under the passenger side of the dashboard and towards the left of the glove box. The HVAC blower motor housing and the filter access cover is located in front of the center console or "stack". Locate the black plastic finger loop at the bottom edge of the filter access panel. Gently pull out the bottom edge of the filter access cover. |

Inner Part of Access Panel |
Outside of Access Panel |
Edge of Old Filter |
The tab at the top
of the cover should easily slide out of the slot on the top of the filter
slot. Set the filter cover aside in a safe place. |
||
Grab Bottom Corner |
Slide Out Old Filter |
Pull Down At An Angle |
Gently pinch the
bottom corner of the old air filter and slide it out of the slot. You may need to pull out the old filter at a slight downward angle to fully remove it from the slot. |

HVAC Blower - Empty Slot |
Inspect Both Sides |
If your vacuum
cleaner has a crevice attachment, clean out any leaves or other debris in
the HVAC blower motor's filter slot. Inspect both sides of the old filter. |

Clean With Vacuum |
Air Flow Arrow Indicator |
If the old filter
is dark grey or black and clogged with dirt, dust, insects, leaves, pollen,
soot, hair, twigs and other debris, it should be replaced with a new
element.
I always buy the OEM Nissan 27277-4BU0A cabin air filter since it has excellent reviews on Amazon and seems to fit really well. If the old filter is still relatively clean, just tap out the large debris and remove any fine dust with a vacuum cleaner. |

Air Flow - Back of SUV |
Line Up With Filter Slot |
Slide In New Filter |
Locate the "Air
Flow" direction indicator arrow on the edge of the new cabin filter. Orientate the arrow with it pointing towards the rear of the SUV. Gently slide the new filter in to the slot. |

Cabin Filter Replaced |
First, re-insert
the tab at the top edge of the filter cover in to the small slot at the top
of the slot. Then swing down the bottom of the filter access cover and push it in to place to secure the retaining clip. Double check that the filter access cover is securely in place. Enjoy the fresh clean air from your A/C system! For more, check out all of my
