This automotive maintenance "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the 10th generation (2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012) Toyota Corolla in removing the HVAC cabin air filter element to clean or replace it.

Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion models such as the Matrix, Auris, Camry, Yaris, Avalon, Sienna, Venza, Prius, RAV4, CT 200h, IS 250, ES 350 iQ, tC, FR-S, xB, xD, and the Pontiac Vibe may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A few of the aftermarket cabin air filter elements compatible with the 09-12 Corolla include the following with their respective part numbers: TYC 800025P, Fram CF10285, Wix 24483, Purolator C25851, Hastings AFC1334, and Fram FCF8392A.

No tools are needed to access the cabin air filter element. A vacuum can be helpful to clean the existing filter element.

Slide In Cleaned/New Filter
If your old cabin air filter isn't too dirty, just tap out the large debris and remove the dust with a vacuum before sliding it back into the housing.

If your old filter element is dark black and packed full of dirt, dust, leaves, insect, hair and other debris, it should be replaced with a brand new filter.
