This automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Ford Fusion in replacing a burnt out overhead map light bulb.

Owners of other Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicles such as the Fiesta, Mustang, Focus, Taurus, Flex, Edge, Expedition, Escape, Ranger, F-150, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT, Navigator, Milan, Grand Marquis, Mariner, and Mountaineer may also find this instruction guide to be helpful.

The Sylvania bulb guide for the '06-'12 Ford Fusion lists the map light bulbs as being part number 3886X which is a bayonet base (BA9S) bulb.

The bulbs in this 2010 Fusion are T3-1/4 miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 192 (4 watts), # 194 or the # 168 (5 watts).

The only tool needed to replace the map light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the translucent lens cover.

Insert the blade of the small flathead screw driver in between the translucent map light lens cover and the edge of the overhead console.

Gently pry out the lens cover without using excessive force.

To help avoid causing damage, cover the screw driver with a tissue, paper towel or a thin micro fiber cloth.

Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger to pull it out from its socket.

If your old bulb has a round metal base than it is part # 3886X bayonet style (BA9S) base.

If your old map light bulb looks like the one shown above in Picture # 6, then it can be replaced with a # 168, # 192, 194 or a compatible LED bulb.
